July Review

Wow. I can't believe that July is over already. That's just crazy. It's exactly three weeks until I leave, meaning that I have just three weeks to hang out with my friends, to finish my novel and to pack up my entire life. I can't exactly say that I'm not a little scared, but I'm also super excited. I'll be sure to keep blogging about all the cool things I'm doing as I move out.

For now, it's time for a little July Review:

Followers: 67 (up from 63... Com'on guys, you can do better than that! It's gonna be a long time until the 100 followers giveaway at this rate.)

Pageviews: 2300 (Down from 2700, and I'm still getting a lot of google images searches)

Day with the most pageviews: July 31st

Most viewed page: How to get Published 3: Revisions (this is the second month in a row it's been popular. Anyone know why?)

Website that referred the most views: Google

Country with the most views: US with 600 (Canada was pretty close with 450)

Keywords people googled to get to my blog:
gulliver's travels
gullivers travels
books
mystery novel pov dead girl
(and many others, but these were the best I could find at the moment)

All in all, it was a fairly good month on the blog, since I finally managed to get back to posting regularly. While my number of followers didn't really go up, my views were still okay. Also, my twitter account has been really growing; it almost doubled in July!

So, thanks to all you lovely blog followers. It's wonderful to actually have people who are reading my writing. I hope you find my posts interesting or informative. Just remember that I always love getting comments, and even if I don't directly respond to them, you should know that they make my day. Thanks so much for reading, and supporting me in this transition time in my life.

June Review

Wow... I can't believe it's July already! Canada Day has come and gone and it's already the 4th. Happy Independence Day to all my American blogger friends! I spent the day out in town, watching Prince William and Kate arrive. It was so tiring, and I ended up standing for two hours before they arrived and didn't even get the best view, but it was still worth it. My first royal sighting! If you're interested, I have some pics on twitter: William close-up, Kate and William by Province House, Kate and William under an umbrella.

That's my interesting news. Now, since it's July, I'm going to do a quick June Review:

Followers: 63 (up from 53)

Pageviews: 2700 (Up from 1200, but a lot of these were google images searches)

Day with the most pageviews: June 12

Most viewed page: How to get Published 3: Revisions

Website that referred the most views: Google

Country with the most views: US with 1000 (Canada was next with 500)

This is kind of a big change from last month. Inkpop.com wasn't even on the list of top referring urls since I haven't been advertising there because they just redid the site. I really like the new look and the new top fives, but it's taking me a little while to get used to it. I plan to become active on the site again soon. It's just been a really busy summer so far.

And on that note, I owe all of you an apology. I've been super busy recently, what with starting a new job, and all the excitement over Canada Day and the royal visit, as well as working on my novel and trying to have some kind of social life, so I've really neglected my blog. This wasn't helped by the fact that I've just lost internet in my room, so now I have to post everything using my family's super slow computer. So, I'm sorry that I haven't been posting much, but I can't guarantee that things will get much better soon. I'll try to work out a new posting schedule that's a little bit more manageable.

P.S. I should point out that I'm just 37 followers away from my promised giveaway.... (and yes, you will get extra points for following early and for spreading the word about my blog even before the contest.)

April Review

Since I didn't really get any books this week (Still working on last week's pile) I'm going to do a quick April Review instead of IMM.

Followers: 43 (up about 23, I think...)

Pageviews: 1800 (up from 1100 in March)

Day with the most pageviews: April 10th

Most viewed page: Main Characters: How to Write Good Characters

Website that referred the most views: Inkpop.com

Country with the most views: US

I can't say I'm terribly surprised by those last two. The crowd on inkpop has been amazingly supportive of my blog, and since lots of inkpoppers live in the states... I've just got to say, thank you to all my readers! I really appreciate your support. I know I'm not getting a ton of views, but 1800 isn't bad considering this was only my second month blogging. Thanks to all of you for reading!

In this next month I'll hopefully be finishing off my 'How to Get Published' series and starting a new one (any suggestions?) In my other writing posts I'll be talking a bit on how to keep your readers reading. I'll also post some book reviews (including reviews of one of my new favourite series) and just other random things. I plan to dive into my new novel, The Web soon (meaning as soon as I stop writing this blog post) so I'll be sure to keep you updated on that. For a complete pitch, check out inkpop.

Again, thanks for reading!
